11 november

I thought I would share some work by New Catalogue, the talented photography duo who shot the spring 2010 collection. New Catalogue is Luke Batten and Jon Sadler and they've been working as New Catalogue since sometime in late 2002 when I posed for their first photograph, Big Ten Co-Ed No. 1.
I got extra lucky last weekend because Jon was in from Boise, so I had the full team at my disposal. I can't wait to be done editing the photos so I can share just how nice they came out! Thanks boys!

super shoes

We shot the collection over the weekend and it was very tiring, but also very fun. We brought some great props but also discovered a few at our location as well. Super thanks to Ken for letting us borrow his place and his shoes.

lulu + stan douglas

I also borrowed a trio of lovely + fun necklaces from my friends Stephen and Jessica, the co-creators of lulu, and I really think they helped the pieces become outfits.

We're downloading the photos off the camera tonight, can't wait!

All these tags have now been put into garments, which are finished, now it's time for the photoshoot. It definitely feels good to sew each tag in and know that garment is finally finished.

28 october

I've been dreaming of an intern, and what do you know, tonight I got one, albeit a cat. It's good to have someone lending a helping paw and eating the pencil out of your hand as you blend sleeve caps. 19 years old and she can still jump onto a 3 foot high table from a stationary crouch on the ground. . . this is just the sort of tenacity I need on my team.

In other news, tomorrow I start my samples and pick up my screens to burn Thursday night. Yards of hand printed fabric and fresh new garments to follow soon. *yea*

20 october

I picked my fabrics a few weeks ago, and I am so excited about my color story. I went a bit primary for this collection, and here we have a light weight red wool with a beautiful drape and a ivory wool yarn that is super soft and warm. I can't wait to get cutting, sewing and knitting!

I hope to one day be the owner of a company tug, and for that, the Arctic Blue would do quite nicely. Isn't she amazing?
